Announcement of Special Guest for Event Day

2026/09/17

This year, we are pleased to welcome Ms. Akiko Suzuki as a special guest to help us enhance FIT2026.We invite you to look forward to her participation.

Akiko Suzuki (Professional Figure Skater / Former Member of the Japanese Olympic Team)

Akiko Suzuki was born in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture.
She began figure skating at the age of six and, after taking time away from competition due to an eating disorder, made her return to the sport in 2004.
She represented Japan at two consecutive Olympic Games—Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014—achieving top‑eight finishes in both.During her competitive career, she earned numerous accolades, including the silver medal at the 2011 ISU Grand Prix Final, the bronze medal at the 2012 World Championships, and the championship title at the 2013 All‑Japan National Championships.
Since retiring from competition in 2014, Suzuki has remained active across a wide range of fields. In addition to performing as a professional figure skater in ice shows, she appears on television and radio programs, delivers lectures, and works as a choreographer and coach both in Japan and abroad.
Drawing on her own experiences, she continues to share insights on physical and mental conditioning, nutrition, and approaches to engaging with sport.
Throughout her athletic career, Suzuki has emphasized the importance of “listening to one’s body, maintaining proper conditioning, and steadily progressing toward one’s goals at one’s own pace.”
This perspective resonates not only with figure skating but also with running and many other sports—as well as with everyday life.
Each individual takes a step toward their own goals, and those steps create connections among people, ultimately contributing to a better society.
The values Suzuki upholds through sport align closely with the mission of the FIT Charity Run.

This year, as a special guest, she will serve as the starter for the 5 km run and join participants on the course for the 10 km run, helping energize the event together with everyone at the venue.
